First, you do not have to be a dues-paying PFLAG member to
participate or volunteer with our PFLAG Flagstaff chapter. Of course,
we encourage everyone to become dues-paying members (or
contributing supporters) to help
us fulfill our mission of support, education, and
advocacy.
Regardless of whether you become an official member or not,
we hope that you'll continue to come and participate fully
in all activities of our chapter.
There are two types of PFLAG membership:
- Membership at the "national" level
(i.e., directly with PFLAG "National")
- Membership at the local level (i.e.,
directly with PFLAG Flagstaff)
We hope that you'll join at the local
level so that more of your funds will benefit our
chapter and, ultimately, our community. If you
were to join at the "national" level, all your funds
would be put to use at the national PFLAG office for
their projects, staff, etc. While that is
certainly worthwhile to support, none of those funds
come to our local community. Therefore, if you
join at the local level, your funds are assured to be
put to work right here in Flagstaff and the surrounding
area (note: with a local membership, we are
required to pay a small fee per membership to the
national organization to help support their work, so you
still help them out even by joining at the local level).
